Federico Rabinovich
Buenos Aires, 1990

Federico Rabinovich (Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a visual artist whose practice operates at the intersection of matter, perception, and symbolic systems. His work explores the boundaries between the organic and the artificial, the industrial and the sensitive, constructing formal landscapes where error, repetition, and transformation function as driving forces.
Trained in visual arts and design, Rabinovich develops a body of work that combines manual processes with technical and industrial methodologies. He uses materials such as resins, metals, pigments, plastic supports, and found elements, which he subjects to physical and chemical treatments to generate unstable, tense, and constantly shifting surfaces. In these works, matter ceases to be a support and becomes the protagonist, revealing its own reactions, cracks, and resistances.
His practice is characterized by a constant investigation into the notion of systems: how a structure can sustain itself, collapse, or reconfigure. Through compositions that resemble maps, ruined architectures, or technical devices, Rabinovich proposes scenarios where control and chance coexist, generating a tension between order and chaos.
Time plays a central role in his work. Many of his pieces develop through prolonged processes, where layers, sedimentations, and traces of intervention remain visible. This temporal dimension turns each work into a record of transformation, a document of an intermediate state rather than a finished object.
Conceptually, his work engages with contemporary issues related to technology, obsolescence, mass production, and the fragility of human systems. Without resorting to direct representation, his works suggest post-industrial environments, echoes of urban landscapes, and structures that evoke both laboratories and archaeological remains of a possible future.
He currently lives and works in Buenos Aires. His work is part of private collections and has been exhibited in independent spaces, galleries, and curatorial projects in Argentina. Through his practice, Rabinovich constructs a distinct visual language in which matter, process, and concept converge into a sensory and reflective experience.
